This 19-inch Samsung LCD HDTV has excellent picture quality. The images on standard non-HD content are also remarkable. The contrast and color are great and require little adjustment out of the box. Overall you can be happy with this unit that would be ideal for a location like a kitchen, office, or dorm room.
The HD content is simply excellent and you can just keep on watching just for the sharper images that you see. About a 3 to 5 foot viewing distance is good enough for this TV. Sound quality is perfectly adequate. But if the sound is a bit thin in the beginning you need to adjust the sound equalizer to boost the bass and midrange. This helps considerably. |
Color and contrast are spot-on in this TV set. You need to adjust the variable backlight, brightness, and contrast controls to yield perhaps the best picture quality that you will see from non-BluRay DVD. There are 3 picture pre-sets - Dynamic for viewing in a bright room, Standard for normal viewing, and Movie for watching in a darkened room.
Vertical and horizontal viewing angles are relatively generous. While there is not an over-abundance of inputs-one HDMI, one S-Video, a single set of component and composite, and a PC input for use with a computer, that's typical for smaller-screen TVs.
